Reptile Camp
Reptile Camp starts up again on July 2nd! Please contact us for further details or fill out our online registration form.
Do you have a reptile and amphibian or nature-loving child? Are you looking for a fun day camp for them to go to this summer? You’ve come to the right spot! Session 6 (August 6-9) and Session 7 (August 12-16) still have space - we'd love for you to join in on the fun!
Camper
Ages 7-12 (younger by special exception)
Our camp days and schedules revolve around the campers and their preferences, implementing an unstructured play and learning approach. Depending on interest, campers may spend more time outside exploring, inside looking after animals, or otherwise. We make sure everyone is given personalized attention and has a blast at Reptile Camp!
During their week at Reptile Camp, campers will:
-
learn about reptiles, amphibians, and more
-
have hands-on experiences with our collection of native and exotic reptiles
-
explore pond and forest habitats
-
catch some cool creatures
-
learn the importance of respecting and conserving nature
-
feed their favourite reptiles
-
play games
-
make crafts to bring home
Leader in Training
Ages 13-17
Our Leader in Training (LIT) program offers experience and guidance in the world of summer camp, leadership, recreational programming, and animal care! It is our goal that LITs will add to their experience, skillset, and confidence in order to excel in future leadership positions.
In addition to camper activities, our LITs will:
-
design and lead an activity for the other campers (ie. craft or game)
-
gain knowledge of organizing activities, safety, equipment use, record keeping, first aid, and more
-
learn leadership and planning skills
-
participate in more advanced animal care with our Animal Care staff
*note that it is recommended, although not mandatory, that LITs sign up for 2 weeks
